It was our first cross-country flight in Switzerland, so we decided to stay away from the mountains. We took off from Grenchen early in the morning for a not very long flight to Wangen-Lachen (LSPV), which is beautifully situated on the harbor of Zurich lake. The weather was very good, however with quite some haze. In the Zurich area we had to be very careful not to enter into Zurich TMA or CTR, GPS proved to be very useful.
Aproach to Wangen-Lachen was a bit tricky because the downwind leg has to be flown very close to the runway (see this link). We flew it almost the way it was suggested . The landing was rather tough. This was the shortest runway I ever landed on and to make it even worse on the approach I was too high and did not manage to touch down shortly after threshold.

On the way back it was quite busy in the air (that was Saturday in the middle of "long weekend"). Arrival back to Grenchen was quite challenging, especially that we were flying HB-CGU which does not have intercom (only loudspeaker and hand mike).

In Grenchen there are 3 parallel runways. Concrete runway in the middle and 2 grass strips on both sides. During our approach to concrete runway 25 we had another plane next to us on short final to runway 25L, it felt a bit strange.
