I had my check ride last week. I got the navigation route from the examiner the day before. I did all my flight planning except for the wind and the rest of the data that have dependencies on the wind.
The route was in England, UK from Blackbushe to Worthing and from there to Marlborough VRP. When I was analyzing the route a found that the where a bit of the route, without many reference point, then I thought I should take a look at Google earth for that area. I end up doing the whole route (Blackbushe-Worthing-Marlborough) in Google earth at about 2500 feet about the ground and guest what, the day after in my actual skill test I could recognize everything from my virtual fly the day before in Google earth.
